uPVC (Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride) is a rigid, chemical resistant and long-lasting polymer which has been used in the construction of windows and doors for over 40 years. The numerous benefits of uPVC’s, which no material can collectively match has helped uPVC garner more than 50% market share in countries like the UK and the USA (where it is also known as vinyl). The Benefits of uPVC include:
The uPVC profiles that we use to manufacture our windows and doors are extremely thermally efficient. The combination of the low conductivity of the uPVC material, the multi-chamber design, and the double EPDM (rubber) gasket system on all openings creates a temperature barrier; all together lowering the costs of heating or cooling your home. Our uPVC profile system offers a higher standard of thermal insulation than all the traditional alternatives; this superior thermal efficiency will help you achieve low ‘U’ values required by South Africa’s building regulations, SANS 204 and SANS 10400. The energy efficiency is even better when combined with double glazing.
After a busy work day, a peaceful environment helps you to de-stress and with our uPVC windows and doors superior insulation due to their multi-chamber design combined with their double EPDM (rubber) gasket system providing a complete seal; helping to keep your home soothingly quiet. For even better noise reduction our windows and doors can be fitted with double glazing allowing a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of up to 44dB to be achieved. Effectively every 10dB reduction is approximately a halving of the exterior noise.
Cleaning your windows and doors will no longer be a chore. The smooth surface of our profiles is easy to clean and does not attract dirt, the uPVC is also chemically resistant and can easily be cleaned with standard household cleaners. Our windows and doors will also never require sanding, painting or varnishing. As they will not rust, rot or warp, leaving you with more time to relax and enjoy life.
Our uPVC profiles are manufactured by Rehau, and are made from their high performance formula RAU-PVC 1476 which includes various stabilizers, including Zinc and Titanium Oxide, ensuring the profiles stay bright and un-affected by the sun for decades. Rehau windows and doors are engineered to withstand the most trying climate conditions, including extreme temperatures, high UV exposure and salt-laden, corrosive sea air. The profiles are also impact modified and all windows and doors are reinforced with galvanized steel making them very strong and secure.
All our profiles have been engineered with security and safety in mind. All our uPVC profile are extruded with a euro-groove, which is designed to be fitted with multi-point locking hardware, keeping you and your family safe. The uPVC profiles are also difficult to ignite as well as being self-extinguishing; our uPVC windows and doors are engineered with the safety of your loved ones and property in mind.
